Justin Hicks is a multidisciplinary artist, composer, and vocalist who uses music to investigate themes of identity, labor, American dream aesthetics, and instinctual value systems. His work has been featured at Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, Performance Space New York, The Public Theater, JACK, The Highland, MoMA, festival Steirischer Herbst, Western Front Society, MASS MoCA, The Whitney Museum of American Arts, Nottingham Contemporary, The Highland, The Institute for Contemporary Art (Philadelphia), and the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts. Hicks has collaborated with notable artists including Abigail DeVille, Charlotte Brathwaite, Meshell Ndegeocello, Cauleen Smith, Ayesha Jordan, Helga Davis, and Lynn Nottage.
