  • Panther Creek Arts 1468 Sawyer Hollow Road West Fulton, NY, 12149 United States (map)

Eric Vloeimans & Will Holshouser

An adventurous trumpet and accordion duo, Eric and Will play evocative original compositions that bring together sounds from jazz, classical and folk music: rich harmonies, catchy melodies, and energetic improvising span the range from emotional to fun. These these two virtuoso musicians use the intimacy of the duo setting to full effect, taking listeners on a journey through a variety of musical landscapes. Along the way, the trumpet and accordion point to a variety of cultural influences, distilled by these two composer/improvisers into a thrilling set of music.

Trumpeter Eric Vloeimans is one of the best-known musicians in the Netherlands, having won six Edison awards (the “Dutch Grammy”) for his recordings. He is in constant demand as a bandleader and guest soloist and has appeared all over the world with groups ranging from the Mercer Ellington Orchestra to the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, as well as his own bands.Recently, he was invited by the king of the Netherlands to play a concert for a state visit to the Czech Republic. Will Holshouser is a veteran of the New York music scene and is one of the most widely respected accordionists in the US. He has toured and recorded with many artists including Regina Carter, David Krakauer, and Antony & the Johnsons. Three albums of his own music have been released by the Portuguese label Clean Feed. The duo recorded their first album, Eric & Will, in the US in 2017. After a pandemic pause, their latest album Two for the Road (V-flow/Challenge Jazz) was recorded live on tour in the Netherlands in 2021. In 2022, they toured to thirteen cities in the U.S.

Please support our sponsors for this event; we would not be here without them. Find them, chat with them, buy their goods, and come back again.

Joan and Tom Brooks rock! Thank you for your major donation to this evening. Go check out their incredible store.

Susan Henry: Even though she doesn’t live here now she still donates. We love her; go give her a hug and tell her to come back home.

Rebecca and Richard Bell. They come to every event they can at the hall, and always say, “how can we help?” Rebecca makes us soup when we’ve had it with cooking. They are awesome.

Shannon and family are early to-bed-people but it doesn’t stop them from offering up help whenever we ask. Go eat their food and buy from their market. Love them all.

ML Geiger is our next door neighbor and lighting designer. In her spare time she weaves, knits, and offers up help whenever we ask. What a place West Fulton is to have the likes of her!

Sylvia Buccelli is an absolute dream of a pianist and long time colleague. Even though she is in Berlin for this concert she offered up a donation to make this night happen. If you find her give her a hug.

Ellen and J.Ed are actors and teachers with long careers in the theater and luckily ended up as neighbors. When we carol in WF at Christmas time they pull out the stops and put on a feast by the fire. If you’re lucky you’ll find them for a chat.

Linda LaViolette just isn’t in WF enough and we can’t get enough of her. She breezes in, drops idea bombs for terrific events, and then she’s off to other parts of the world. Linda, come back !

Joe Garry always takes an interest in whatever is going on here at the hall. He and his late husband, Barry, religiously attended the turkey suppers here where they have, “turkey supper friends; of course we’ll be there!” Give him a hug for us.
